We are delighted to have recently waved off the second of two Gunfleet 58’s fitted out here at Fox’s. We thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of completing these highly engineered, state-of-the-art cruising yachts.
Both yachts arrived at Fox’s partially complete along with four removal vehicles containing hundreds of components and fine joinery. With experienced owners and very different specifications, each yacht needed to be highly luxurious and totally customised to suit their individual requirements.
The first yacht was configured for shorthanded, longer distance, high latitude, adventure sailing with multiple backup systems both below and above decks, additional stowage, deck and sail handling arrangements and ground tackle. The in-boom furling and various furling headsail and downwind sails offer high-performance sailing for a small crew and with automated wind, water and solar charging arrangements, the yacht is very self-sufficient.
The second Gunfleet 58 is currently heading to the Mediterranean for some relaxed cruising. With powered in-mast furling, bow and stern thrusters she can be handled by a small crew, whilst offering spacious accommodation and additional facilities including multiple shower/heads, on-board dive compressors and air conditioning throughout.
Working with key suppliers, our skilled team have made a beautiful job of each of these yachts fit out, followed by rigging and sail trials, all completed at Fox’s. Both are now in commission and being enjoyed by their owners.
